WHERE TO STAY IN SINGAPORE

We looked at hostels, airbnb’s & hotels and noticed that the airbnb prices really weren’t that cheap and sometimes more expensive than hotels or not even nice looking at all.

Hostels are in a good location but they aren’t very comfortable and it’s hard to find a hostel that has an outgoing environment to make it easy to make friends.

Downtown area is a good area to stay in as everything is close to you but that also makes accomodation a lot more expensive.

We stayed at Park Hotel Alexandra (a 4 star hotel) which was only a 10 minute taxi ride away from downtown Singapore (taxi’s are cheap in Singapore, especially when you split between some people).

The hotel has a free shuttle every hour from every hour that takes you into the centre of Singapore (there are multiple stations to choose from). This was very convenient for us. If the shuttle is not running because it is too early or too late in the day, a taxi to the centre of Singapore is very cheap. Only about $10-15.

Park Hotel Alexandra has an amazing rooftop infinity pool with a swim-up snack & drinks bar. It gives you the resort vibes while still being in a city which we totally loved. We also got complimentary buffet breakfast (which was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had with a variety of options from different countries) as well as free cocktail hour every day from 5:30-7:30pm in their Crystal Club Lounge. Drinks are expensive in Singapore so cocktail hour was perfect!

The customer service at this hotel was impeccable. I can't even begin to explain, you have to experience it for yourself!

Make sure that wherever you stay, there is A/C! You will need it as it tends to get very hot inside, especially during summer months.
